Disciples Support
Ministries is a non-denominational discipleship
ministry. We focus on training, encouraging,
supporting and equipping local pastors to minister
to their own people. This is accomplished through:
1. A Bible Training and Discipleship program that specifically target local pastors, ministry leaders and deacons, providing broad based expository Biblical Training;
2. A Micro-loan Pastoral Support program providing training and initial capital for pastors, with the goal of them becoming self-supporting pastors through viable and sustainable family businesses.
3. Direct involvement with the Discipleship of Women & Children, exclusively through local pastors involved above. We equip the pastors to minister to and disciple women and children: First and foremost, within his church, and Secondarily, as outreach to the community. As much as possible, programs are staffed and maintained by each pastor’s congregation members.
The Biblical Foundation for Disciple Support Ministries:
1. Jesus’ goal to make disciples: “I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt 4.19) DSM focuses on direct discipleship and training of local pastors, much as Jesus did His group of 12. In turn, local pastors are then equipped to make disciples within the congregation and local community (“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations….teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you..” Mt 28.19)
2. Aaron and Hur’s assistance to Moses (Ex 17.11: “And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands become heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.” Aaron and Hur on did not replace Moses, but assisted, equipped and strengthened him. DSM focuses on discipleship of local pastors to lead the local church, through efforts of “equipping of the saints for the work of ministry…” (Ep 4.12)
