Statement of Faith

Disciples Support Ministries is a discipleship ministry focused on training, encouraging and equipping pastors, ministry leaders and members of the Body of Christ. The Ministry provides Bible instruction emphasizing clear understanding and practical application of Gods Word. We emphasize ministry to pastors and ministry leaders who otherwise cannot attend Bible College and/or ongoing ministry training. For dedicated students, the Ministry sponsors all expenses, materials and tuition fees. Disciple Support Ministries is a non-denominational, non-sectarian, unaffiliated discipleship ministry. We are not a church, nor are we affiliated with any singular church. We are not a denomination, nor are we opposed to denominations, as such. We believe in the all sufficiency of Gods Word, teaching the full counsel of the Bible book by book, and the exposition of practical application through straightforward explanation. We teach both expositionally and topically.

Disciple Support Ministries bases its ministry
on the following Statement of Faith:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3.15-17)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28.19, Ephesians 4.4-6)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1.1-4, Matthew 1.23, Phillipians 2.5-11, Hebrews 1.1-4 & 4.15, Acts 1.11 & 2.22-24, 1 Corinthians 15.3-4)

We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. (Titus 3.4-7, Luke 24.46-47, Ephesians 2.8-9, John 14.6, Acts 4.12)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. (Galatians 5.16-18, Romans 8.9)

We believe in the resurrection of both the unsaved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. (Revelation 20.11-15, 1 Corinthians 15.51-57)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. (Ephesians 1.22-23, 1 Corinthians 12.12, 27)

We believe that the ministry of evangelism is the responsibility of both the church and each Christian. (Romans 10.9-15, Acts 1.8, Matthew 28.18-20, 1 Peter 3.15)

Mission Statement

Disciples Support Ministries is a non-denominational discipleship ministry. We focus on training, encouraging, supporting and equipping local pastors to minister to their own people. This is accomplished through:

1. A Bible Training and Discipleship program that specifically target local pastors, ministry leaders and deacons, providing broad based expository Biblical Training;

2. A Micro-loan Pastoral Support program providing training and initial capital for pastors, with the goal of them becoming self-supporting pastors through viable and sustainable family businesses.

3. Direct involvement with the Discipleship of Women & Children, exclusively through local pastors involved above. We equip the pastors to minister to and disciple women and children: First and foremost, within his church, and Secondarily, as outreach to the community. As much as possible, programs are staffed and maintained by each pastor’s congregation members.

The Biblical Foundation for Disciple Support Ministries:

1. Jesus’ goal to make disciples: “I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt 4.19) DSM focuses on direct discipleship and training of local pastors, much as Jesus did His group of 12. In turn, local pastors are then equipped to make disciples within the congregation and local community (“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations….teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you..” Mt 28.19)

2. Aaron and Hur’s assistance to Moses (Ex 17.11: “And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands become heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.” Aaron and Hur on did not replace Moses, but assisted, equipped and strengthened him. DSM focuses on discipleship of local pastors to lead the local church, through efforts of “equipping of the saints for the work of ministry…” (Ep 4.12)
